Attack The Block was a very fun fiction-comedy-thriller film to watch. Was actually perfect watching this after Independence Day. Same producers as Shaun Of The Dead with all the lovely British humor. Just imagine instead of zombies, aliens!
Its debut premiere was at the SXSW film festival and has been getting a lot of praise since then. Surprisingly, at the moment, has a 90% on RT. This film is set to have a theatrical release on July 29. I say: check it out!
Super 8
Super 8 was a very solid film. You definitely see J.J. Abrams’ directing style throughout the whole film because his directing style and storytelling both come together well to clearly tell a great story.
Although most of the main cast were not heard of, they did justice to the film! We will definitely be seeing more of these kids in future films. Music was very on point (Michael Giacchino), cinematography was very on point for an alien/sci-fi movie. Great job to Spielberg for producing the film.
Personally, my second favorite of the summer, but some may probably feel like this is the best film this year. What do you think?
Super 8 is exclusively in theaters NOW (Thursday, June 9) only in the Bay Area. This movie will be showing everywhere else on Friday, June 10th.
Source Code was sorta like Inception except I understood it all at first watch. It does have some mind-boggling moments that have you have to think about for a second, but it all works out in the end. The movie was pretty entertaining and should deserve a watch in the theaters!
Although the idea of the movie doesn’t sound too interesting, The Social Network actually did a really great job; it was actually my kind of movie. It kept me interested and entertained the whole time with the dialogue and the logistics behind it.
After watching it, I have this strong urge of just doing something different in the world, or starting something crazy and epic. After you watch this movie, the first thing you’ll do is get up on Wikipedia and see how much of Facebook’s history is actually true, which a large percentage is from the movie.
